Global Warming Canceled…

…the water hunt portion of the Heyburn Park Outing on Saturday, September 13th. Cloudy & overcast, temperature in the low end of the 50 degree range, steady 20 mph wind off the lake, making for wind chill in the low 40 degree range. Consensus opinion was to cancel the water hunt and put the $400.00 in Silver coins in the Fall Club Member Only Hunt. As you can tell by the photos provided by Jean Dick, we could have used a big bonfire.

But we still had a good picinic if even on the cool side. The club again supplied hamburgers, hot links, hot dogs, buns, condiments, & chips. Roger Eaton once more into the fire, which felt pretty good on this day, handled the job of cooking. Good job Roger, Thank You! Thanks again to John Freeman for picking up and hauling the food, supplies, & extra scoops. And Thanks again to John Hamilton for storing and hauling the grill & tables. The grill in now back in the club’s storage building at Shirley Stotts as the water hunting season comes to a close, Thank You Shirley!

Less than 20 club members were standing in line to chow down on burgers, dogs, and food brought by club members. Thanks to all those bringing the great side dishes and desserts. Again, if you went away hungry at this outing, it was your own fault. At least half of those that signed up for the outing probably decided to stay close to the fire for the day.

As the crowd broke up and headed for a warm spot the cry was, “Wait ‘til next year!”
